In his book, Fizz, Olly Smith shares his recipe for a booze free Michelada featuring our Bloody Mary Mix (of which he is a big fan, see here). Extending on the theme, as well making this a No Alcohol drink, you could make it a Low Alcohol drink by just using a low ABV lager.
By the way, wondering what on earth a Michelada is? Basically it’s a Bloody Mary Beer, yes it sounds weird but it’s actually delicious and is a big deal in Mexico.
Here’s what Olly wrote about the “Mini Michelada”…
“Mexico’s Michelada has always been a seemingly innocent way to sip a beer for breakfast laced through spicy tomato juice. These days, with so many fantastic non-alcoholic beers out there such as Big Drop Brewing Co this mini Michelada is as innocent as it needs to be (Of course, if you switch out the zero per cent beer for a naughty lager, I won’t judge). But the very best thing about this recipe is that the Bloody Bens Bloody Mary Mix does all the hard work for you – and it really is so ludicrously tasty there’s always a bottle in my fridge.”
Wipe the edge of the glass with fresh lime wedges and dip in chilli salt. Fill the glass with ice, pour in all the ingredients and stir gently.
